CROSSING THE SCREEN is an international film festival, meant to showcase innovative and independent forms of visual art from all over the world. The festival is devoted to discovering and celebrating unique voices and up-and-coming new cinema talents, who are not afraid to transcend traditional storytelling.
For the 2017 programme Devonshire Collective will host several screenings including this programme of short films on 26 November, starting at 7.30 pm. Embark on a stunning visual journey with these short experimental films that alter photographic reality, mixing different media to reach new heights of creativity.
Dir. Kalpana SubramanianAn aesthetic meditation on the digital and analogic divide that engages the poetics of materiality. Cinematic light and projections emanating from a 16mm projector playing an old strip of film are captured by a digital video camera in a single setting. Their varying frame rates create visual disruptions that are magnified to create a unique visual language that celebrates their ‘dialogue of dissonance.’
