DC LIVE Peg In The Gallery – Children’s theatre show
April 15 @ 12:00 pm - 12:45 pm
Character comedian Jo Neary (TV’s Ideal, Man Down, Count Arthur Strong) brings her observational brilliance and off-kilter wit to a new show for children – Peg In The Gallery.
It’s about an artist called Peg, who believes that ‘‘being a modern artist has never been such silly fun” and wants to prove that everyone’s an artist. Especially you!
Here’s what happens. Little Bob has a new job in the local seaside art gallery but he’s forgotten to get any artwork to put up and the show must open today. Can you help Bob and the artist Peg to fill the gallery with wonderful new work in time to impress the Gallery Inspector?
Peg is joined in her mission by Fiona Fishfinger, who thinks that art is rubbish, and Karen Crayon, an amateur but passionate painter. Everyone is encouraged to get messy with art. Using improvisation, songs and stories, the show is about what it is to be creative, looking at art and being in a gallery.
Jo starred in the CBBC series “So Awkward” as Mrs Jones and has made many successful shows for children in recent years.
