Once in a Universe: An Exhibition by Judith Alder
September 24 @ 11:00 am - October 7 @ 5:00 pm
We live in a period of unprecedented technological and environmental progress in which the speed of change is so rapid that it “feels impossible to maintain pace with the present, never mind to chart the future.”*
Artist Judith Alder explores growth, change and evolution from the origins of life to the 21st century and beyond in her new project, Once in a Universe.
For 10 months Alder is working with other artists, curators, the public and professionals from across disciplines to develop ideas for new work about life in the Anthropocene – “The Age of Man”.
Once in a Universe culminates in a two-week residency at DC1 Café Gallery from 24 September to 7 October 2018, when Judith will be working live in the gallery and developing new work informed by her research.
Artists, curators and the public are invited to visit Judith in the gallery to talk about the work.
Once in a Universe is supported by the National Lottery through Arts Council England, Devonshire West Big Local and East Sussex Arts Partnership
