Devonshire Collective Launch Programme kicks off this October
We are pleased to announce that we are hosting a special launch programme this autumn, thanks to a £30,000 Arts Council England award.
Starting in October, five venues across the Devonshire Collective will host a series of exhibitions, workshops and events to celebrate our new initiative. Read our launch programme brochure online.
The launch programme includes a variety of community, youth and family workshops including rap workshops with AudioActive and dance workshops with the acclaimed Jasmin Vardimon Dance Company. Collective Live presents Jo Neary and Friends’s Eastbourne Division comedy night.
Our launch visual art exhibition Collective is curated by Judith Alder and will include works by Judith Alder, Hermione Allsopp, Rachel Cohen, Susannah Douglas, Axel Hesslenberg, Suzanne O’Haire, Liv Pennington, Charlotte Still & Clare Whistler, Victoria Threlfall and Alexandra Valy.
Family sculpture workshops (Birds Eye View) will be led by Lucy Dean and printmaking workshops (Pie N’ Mash) will combine reminiscence and letter press design sessions, run by Claire Somerville-Perkins.
Sheila Hay and Claire Shoosmith from Eastbourne Studio Pottery will work with local retailers to create community project, Ceramic Storyboard and Souvenirs.
The Devonshire Collective Launch Programme will kick off new the creative and cultural hub based in Devonshire Ward, Eastbourne with studios, makerspaces, workshops, gallery and cafe for the benefit of artists, community members and the wider public, supported by Devonshire West Big Local, Eastbourne Borough Council, Eastbourne Housing Investment Company and Arts Council England.
