Local artist, Michaele Wynn-Jones uses Art to fundraise for a homeless choir.
My sister-in-law Michaele Wynn-Jones apart from being a dear friend is also a highly talented Eastbourne artist. Her daughter, Freya, is the musical director of a choir in Brighton called The Choir With No Name. A group for people affected by homelessness. It started with just a handful of members and is now around 40 strong.
Launching this show on National Homeless Awareness Day, I thought it would be nice to let you all know what Michaele is doing to help raise money to support this brilliant choir. Her target is £1000 and she’s already over half way there!!
She’s putting on an exhibition of her artwork at DC1 on Seaside Road from tomorrow (11th Oct), Saturday and then Wed/Fri and Saturday next week from 11am to 5p, until Saturday 2nd November.
Michaele has created 100 small acrylic, abstract paintings and 50 framed originals will be on sale at DC1 for £45, with every penny going toward the Choir.
