Who’s that Girl?
Take the Space is an Eastbourne-based arts and heritage CIC. For the past year, Take the Space has been developing Who’s that Girl? in partnership with Heritage Eastbourne. If successful in its bid to HLF, the project will seek to discover further information relating to the Beachy Head Woman’s skeleton, the oldest known Black Briton who grew up in East Sussex circa 200AD. Alongside, the project will be working with Yorkshire Museum to deliver a programme of engagement around the Ivory Bangle Lady, thought to be a high-status, mixed-race woman from Roman York, and whose skeletal remains date to the second half of the fourth century.
