Anita is from an Eastbourne fishing family and as a child she spent many hours on the beach. She loved going to sea in the family fishing boat and she has a long-standing connection with the sea.
Nowadays, beach combing is a compulsive activity for Anita and finding increasing amounts of plastic on the strand line has become a catalyst for her art.
Anita has a passion for creating something from nothing; she currently takes washed up plastic trash and makes pieces of work in mixed media to deliver her message on plastic pollution.
Plastic waste and marine pollution is the focus for her upcoming exhibition FRETTING at DC1 in June 2018.
