Both speakers’ work focuses on looking at history from the margin: Sterling uses folklore as an allegory for the ignorance and irrationality of nationalism, xenophobia and racism, while Sam focuses on the queer and the transitory nature of history.
The conversation will examine both Sterling’s work from Clutching at Straws and Kindon’s writing, exploring how stories from that are based in ignorance can be subverted into understanding contemporary plights.
